Procedure to install Dial Express Software

  1. Disable all personal firewall software.
  2. Disable all virus scanning software.
  3. Open your internet browser and download the new Dial Express software by clicking on the following URL:

http://www.drtel.net/download/DialExpress.exe

 

If downloading does not automatically begin, copy the above link, open your browser window and paste the link in the address location of the browser.

  1. Save the Dial Express software to your computer (Please remember where the software is saving to such as "C:/Program Files" because you will need to install it.)

  2. Once the download is complete, you must next install the software.

  3. Find and double click the file DialExpress.exe

  4. The Installation Wizard will open and walk you through each step of the install. Answer the questions as indicated. The following screens will appear. Answer the questions as indicated.

 


 
  1. Click I Accept.


 
  1. Make sure all Windows are closed on your computer before clicking “Next.”

 
  1. Enter the access code emailed to you from DRN. The code is case sensitive.
  2. Click “Next.”

 
The Banner Ad Blocking and Pop-Up Blocking are pre-selected for you. If you do not wish to install these features, click on the box to remove the check mark.

Blocking Ads and pop-ups will help increase your browsing speed but are not required for the Dial Express software to function. Blocking these items is an optional new feature.

  1. Once you have the blocking features selected/deselected
    to meet your preference, click “Install.”
The installation is now complete.
  1. Click “OK” to restart your
    computer. You must restart your computer.


The “Enabled” Dial Express Red E will look like this:

The “Connecting” Dial Express Blue E will look like this:

 

**After your computer has been restarted remember to enable your virus scanning software and your personal firewall software.

The installation of the Dial Express software will now be indicated by the red E in the yellow background in your Windows System Tray, this is the on the bottom right hand side of your computer screen.

To use Dial Express, connect to the Internet via your dial up modem.

When you are connected to the Internet and you open a web page, the Red E will blink blue on the bottom right hand side of the screen.

After you have finished downloading the page the E will return Red.

 


 

Double click on the Red E in the System Tray (lower right hand side of the computer screen) to open the Dial Express Options Window.

To the left are the default settings for Dial Express once the software has been installed. You may click on the “Help” tab at any time to learn more about these options.

Notice that your Images Settings is
defaulted to “Excellent Quality.” To increase your browsing performance select Low Quality (maximum compression), or select a different setting that’s right for you and click “OK.

The “Disabled” Dial Express Gray E will look like this:

Dial Express is “Disabled” if the E
turns gray with an X through it. This is also on the system tray (the lower right hand side of the computer screen).

To enable Dial Express right click the Gray E icon and select “Enable.”
