Never before in the history of United States has education stood in the cross hairs of a political agenda whose interest it is to destroy the very knowledge  mankind has striven to achieve often at the risk of personal injury or death.  At risk is history, astronomy, geology, and biology not to mention the very right to know.  We must act --- now --- before we no longer can.
